A brand that means something to the right people.

Most small business branding is a logo, a colour palette, and a list of values nobody reads. That's not a brand. A brand is the promise you make and the way you keep showing up to keep it.

Here's the trap. When a customer can't tell the difference between you and the four other businesses in your category, price is the only thing left to compete on. That's a race nobody wants to win, and one most small businesses end up running by accident.

We help you stop that. Strong positioning makes the comparison stop. We dig into what makes you different, write language that proves it, and build visual identity that backs it up. Then we make sure that story shows up: on your site, in your sales calls, on your social, in the press.

What's included

  • 01Positioning workshop: what you do, who for, what you do differently, and why anyone should care
  • 02Messaging framework: headline, sub-headline, value props, tone of voice rules, and proof points
  • 03Visual identity: logo, colour, typography, imagery direction, used consistently across surfaces
  • 04Brand guidelines document your team and contractors can follow

  • 06Optional: media list building, journalist outreach, and HARO/Featured response support

Our process

  1. 01

    Audit

We look at what you have now (site, social, sales materials, press) and at how the market positions itself around you. Maps the white space.

  2. 02

    Positioning

Working session to land on the one sentence that explains who you are, who you serve, and what's different about how you do it.

  3. 03

    Messaging

Headlines, value props, tone rules, and the answers to the five questions every prospect asks. Tested against real customer conversations.

  4. 04

    Identity

If visual work is in scope, we design the system: logo, type, colour, imagery. If you have an identity that works, we leave it alone and write the rules to make it consistent.

  5. 05

    Activation

Brand guidelines, asset library, and a roll-out plan for getting the new positioning into your site, social, sales decks, and ongoing PR.

Who this is for

  • Founders who can describe what they do in 10 different ways and none of them feel right
  • Businesses that have grown past their original positioning and need it to catch up
  • Companies competing on price who want to stop competing on price
  • Founders preparing for fundraising, a partnership, or a meaningful PR push

What this isn't

Need a logo and a colour palette by Friday for under $500? We're not your shop. The work we do takes weeks, because positioning that sticks takes weeks. If a quick logo is all you need, a good freelancer is a better call, and we're happy to point you to one.

Common questions

How is this different from hiring a graphic designer?
A graphic designer makes the visual work look good. We figure out what the visual work needs to communicate before anyone designs anything. The order matters. Start with the design and you end up with a beautiful brand that doesn't say anything.
How long does the work take?
Three to six weeks for positioning and messaging on its own. Six to ten weeks if visual identity is in scope. Add another two to four weeks for full activation across your existing surfaces.
What does it cost?
Most brand projects sit in our standard $5,000 to $10,000 CAD project range, with full identity rebuilds running higher. We give you a complete quote after the audit call so you can see what fits. No surprise scope creep later.
Do we need to throw out our current brand?
Usually not. Most of the brand work we do is sharpening: finding what's already working, fixing the broken parts, and writing the rules so it stops drifting.
What's digital PR?
Earning mentions and links from publications, podcasts, and communities your customers already trust. For Toronto small businesses, that's BlogTO, The Logic, Toronto Star, local podcasts, and industry-specific outlets. We help you figure out which ones matter, what story to tell, and how to get the placement.
